Staffing Industry Adding Jobs
Results of a third quarter employment and sales survey reveal a marked improvement in staffing employment in the third quarter of 2009 (Q3 2009) over the previous quarter, but the number of jobs remains substantially lower than during the same period last year, according to theĀ American Staffing Association (ASA).
While the U.S. experienced sustained losses in overall employment, the staffing industry added nearly 130,000 jobs in Q3 2009, the first increase in seven quarters. America’s staffing companies report employing an average of 2.1 million temporary and contract workers per day from July through September, 6.7% more than in the second quarter of this year reports ASA.
