Retention in the Face of Recovery

Companies seeking to retain employees as the economic recovery begins should start addressing three key areas of dissatisfaction: compensation, career growth paths, and retention efforts, according to Adecco Group North America’s American Workplace Insights Survey.
In fact, 78% of American workers are dissatisfied with their company’s overall retention efforts, 76% are not satisfied about future career growth opportunities, and 66% are dissatisfied with their compensation, the survey reveals.

Just under half (48%) of workers claim they are unhappy with the relationship they have with their boss and 59% state they are not satisfied with the level of support they receive from their colleagues. More than three-quarters of workers say (77%) they are dissatisfied with their company’s strategy, vision, and leadership.
The survey recommends that employers be more visible in their retention efforts and reward programs, as well as communicating a growth path for their employees.
