Engaging and Retaining Healthcare Employees
Feeling appreciated and valued are critical key elements when it comes to healthcare employees remaining engaged and performing to the highest levels suggest findings from a study released by the Center for Talent Retention, specialists in employment engagement and retention. The survey, What Matters to Engaging and Retaining NEW Healthcare Employees, identifies the top 10 most critical needs, current performance on the top 10 most critical needs, how long employees plan to stay in their current job and how long they plan to stay with their organization. The survey also focuses on how different demographics impact the results. Of the three demographics studied, job categories focuses on how nurses rate current performance on the work, work environment, manager actions and organization variables compared to other roles; full-time vs. part-time status rates current performance the same, higher or lower than their full-time counterparts; as well as length of service with the organization does the length of employee service effect how they rate current performance and do current performance ratings drop more quickly for certain variables? The report also contains recommendations as well as sample solutions to take action to engage and retain employees.
