"40-Somethings" Hot Ticket for Recruitment Relocation

The demand for quality workers has emerged as the highest external factor affecting corporate relocations. For years, primary targets for corporate relocations were the “30-somethings” looking for career advancement. Nowadays, companies are asking the “40-somethings” and seasoned veterans to relocate for the good of the company – a movement paralleling another workplace trend – the demand for higher skilled workers. Findings from Atlas World Group’s Corporate Relocation Survey, also suggest that from 1973-1987 the number of transferees over 40 years old averaged 12%; in 2007 it is approximately 30%. Other findings include increasing reductions in health benefits and full insurance coverage. One perk on the rise is spousal assistance in finding a job, a trend reflecting how companies are going above and beyond to lure top talent.
