Today, SimplyHired.com released its March job trends report highlighting national and local market outlooks, and industry and employer trends.
After months of steady increases, nationwide hiring returned to pre-recession levels in March. Job openings increased 4.1% from February 2011 and 39.1% from March 2010, resulting in over five million job listings posted throughout the month.

The Corporate Executive Board regularly surveys heads of Benefits at some of the largest companies in the U.S. in order to obtain their views on key challenges and topics they follow. CEB this month conducted their latest “Benefits Manager” poll and the results are finally in.
Of note, in Q4 of 2010, many organizations seemed to become more conservative regarding dropping their health care benefits, although this trend has reversed itself in Q1 2011. According to CEB, this change might reflect the fluctuation of repeal activity and how firms came to perceived it; and/or firms coming to realize the impact the reform law would have on their businesses.

• A 3.8% increase in nationwide hiring compared to January data
• A -2% dip in tech industry openings
• A double digit spike in military related job listings.

Simply Hired has released its January job trends report, which highlights national and local market outlooks, and industry and employer trends.
After last month’s year-end lull, hiring picked up slightly in the first month of 2011. Nationwide job openings increased 1.7% from December 2010, and showed a steady year-over-year improvement of 65.1% from January 2010. Although December saw a significant decrease in the number of job openings, this trend is typical for the end of the year. With the positive growth in January, it’s apparent that the job market is recovering steadily.

Job openings across the U.S. decreased 4.4 percent from November, a typical slow-down in the last weeks of the year as employers will resume hiring after the holidays. Despite the month-over-month decline, the market remained improved from last year, up 69.4 percent.
